How are points awarded?

Merit Points

Merit points is a sum of the rankings in the three categories: performance points, average ranking, and scholarship earnings. The lower the sum, the higher the ranking.

Merit points determine the Player of the Year and the two All-Star Teams.

Performance Points

Tournament winners in the Prep and Open divisions are awarded 1,500 points, with the Girls division receiving 1,100 points. Points decrease per rank. Bowlers receive a minimum of 100 points for participating.

Bowlers receive a bonus 75 points for having the highest qualifying total, and a bonus 50 points for high game and highest tournament average.

Rankings in bracket play are determined by the final game bowled. For example, quarter-finalists (5th-8th) are ranked by the game they bowled in the quarterfinals, regardless of seeding.
